I have been making 3d art for about 5 years now. It all started when I saw other peoples art, and I used them as wallpaper for my computer. I had no idea how it was made. But I thought it was VERY cool! So I decided to find out, and well then... I am where I am now because of it. I am totally self taught. I only do it for a hobbie, but hope to make more out of it. I have used a lot of diffrent programs. I tired Lightwave, maya, world builder, blender, 3dmax (which made me crazy) lol
So now I have settled down with Poser 7 and Vue 6. I also use cs3 (photoshop) to post my art. You will notice some of the abstracts I make are all made with brushes in cs3, from images I have rendered. I also use Virtual Fashion to make dynamic clothes for poser models.
